As many as 80 passengers, including four infants, were on Monday airlifted between the border district of Kargil in Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh and Jammu, officials said this afternoon.

 

They said AN-32 Kargil Courier airlifted 54 passengers, today, including 4 infants, in two sorties from Kargil to Jammu.

 

Similarly, 26 passengers from Jammu to Kargil in one sortie, they said.

 

Kargil remained cut off after the only all weather road connecting the UT of Ladakh with Kashmir has been closed since January Ist this year due to accumulation of snow.
